In France, the kids get a 2-week school holiday at the end of October. They go back to school after Toussaint (All Souls’ Day which is on November 1st).
This year, my husband has a conference in Brazil scheduled for just after school holidays. Because I have relatives there that I don’t often get to see, we decided to make a family trip out of it! But, that means that my kids had 2 weeks of school vacation plus 2 weeks of family vacation. One month of no school? How lucky are they?!
But it mean one month of having a 7.5 and a 4 year old at home. Which means mom will go crazy…
UNLESS….
Since our flight is on Tuesday night, we sent the kids to school all-day Monday and Tuesday morning while I packed/organized/saved my sanity.
And while I was slaving away, my mini figure (do you like her new ‘do?) has been taking care of herself.
She grabbed a yoga mat while I’ve been sitting here at the computer, and is doing a power yoga flow. I am living vicariously through her. Finding strength and peace with each of her vinyasas.
At first, I was kind of mad. I mean, I took her to her first class (at Sean Vigue’s Youtube channel).
But then I watched JP Sears’s Ultra Spirituality Life episode about how to reduce the stress of trying to live a peaceful and spiritual life 24/7. In this episode, JP explains that, by using the techniques that life hacker Tim Ferriss described in his 4-Hour Work Week book, you can outsource most of the work and save the best or most effective parts for yourself.
So I’m going to let my mini-me get in her workout while I finish organizing for our trip.
Efficiency. That will be my self-care.
We both benefit!
i LOVE THIS!
